September is bringing a whole lot of paws, purrs, wagging tails and community fun to Mississauga!
If you’re a pet parent looking for something fun to do with your family this month, there are some fantastic pet-focused events happening around the city. From an incredible weekend celebrating the world of cats to a chance for your pup to make a splash, September is packed with opportunities to get out, meet other animal lovers and celebrate the pets who make our lives better.
And there’s an extra reason to stop by these events…
Pups ‘n’ Kittens Pet Services will be there!
We’ll be popping up at all three events with fun treats for your pets AND their humans, plus some awesome grand prizes that one lucky winner at each event will have a chance to take home!
So mark your calendar, grab the family and come say hello. Here’s what’s happening:
September 5–6: TICA Annual Cat Show — A Whisker Wonderland
The purr-fect way to kick off September!
Calling all cat lovers! The TICA Annual 2026 Cat Show, presented by the Canadian Pet Expo and hosted by the CPE Cat Club, is taking over The International Centre in Mississauga on September 5 and 6.
The International Centre
This isn’t your average cat show. It’s being billed as “A Whisker Wonderland” and brings together pedigreed cats, household pets, breeders, exhibitors, judges and feline enthusiasts for an entire weekend dedicated to cats.
The show features 14 judging rings, specialty competitions, live judging, breed showcases, educational sessions, vendors and plenty of opportunities to admire some seriously spectacular cats.
What can you expect?
Incredible pedigreed and household cats.
Live judging and championship finals.
Meet the Breeds opportunities.
Cat-focused vendors and shopping.
Educational talks about feline health, behaviour and care.
Family-friendly activities.
Plenty of opportunities to meet fellow cat lovers
Saturday is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., while Sunday runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
And, of course, we’ll be there!
If you’re a cat parent, this is a great opportunity to come chat with us about everything from cat sitting and vacation care to making sure your kitty gets the attention they need while you’re away.
And yes… we’ll have goodies!
We’ll be handing out some fun treats for the two-legged and four-legged visitors who stop by our booth, along with an awesome grand prize giveaway for one lucky winner.
So whether you have a champion show cat, a mischievous house cat or a cat who believes they are royalty simply because they woke you up at 4 a.m., come find us and say hello!
September 12: Mississauga Dog Swim
Because summer isn't over until the dogs say it is!
Next up is one of the most fun pet events of the year: Mississauga's annual Dog Swim!
This is exactly what it sounds like, dogs get to take over the pool for a special swim before the outdoor pools close for the season.
Mississauga's Dog Swim has become a popular annual tradition, giving dogs the chance to cool off, exercise and socialize while their humans cheer them on from the pool deck.
The event takes place on Saturday, September 12, with sessions throughout the day. Dog Swim locations include:

📍 Applewood Outdoor Pool
📍 David Ramsey Outdoor Pool
Dogs must meet the event requirements, including being fully vaccinated, and registration includes the required waiver and other pool rules. The event also supports Mississauga Animal Services through donations.

Pups ‘n’ Kittens Pet Services will be at the Lions Club of Credit Valley with treats for the pups, goodies for their humans and another fantastic grand prize giveaway.
Whether your dog is a seasoned swimmer who thinks they're part Labrador, or the kind of dog who considers a puddle to be an extreme water sport, this is a fun event for the whole family.
Just be prepared for one thing: Your dog may come home smelling like a wet towel.
September 26: Dogsville — Toronto Dog Mom Day Edition
Streetsville is going to the dogs!
We're ending September with a BIG celebration of all things dog at Dogsville: Toronto Dog Mom Day Edition in Streetsville!
On Saturday, September 26, Streetsville Village Square will transform into a dog-friendly celebration filled with dogs, pet parents, local businesses, entertainment, activities, photo opportunities and plenty of opportunities to connect with other dog lovers.
The event runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and is free to attend. Organizers are expecting hundreds of dogs and pet parents to come together for what is being described as the biggest Dogsville event yet.
This is more than just a dog event. It's a celebration of the incredible community that comes with being a dog parent.
Expect:
Dog-friendly vendors.
Local businesses.
Interactive experiences.
Photo opportunities.
Live entertainment.
Lots of wagging tails.
Plenty of opportunities to meet other dog lovers
